It's 2015 Now and I have post Charlie Hebdo Massacre Confusion

Uh-oh it's a new year, so that means I need to post at least once on this blog. Social media and the Internet have been heavy lately, so let me add to it. I escaped hands up, don't shoot Ferguson pretty much unscathed, but now with the killing of cartoonists in France, and as a strong believer of free speech and taking it to authority figures, including prophets and Gods, I am thoroughly confused by the post-Charlie Hebdo commentary.

Let me explain. Up to now, my timelines and feeds have been places where I agree pretty much with everything that is said. But in this post-Charlie massacre world, what is going on? People are just unleashing what seem to me to be unrelated grievances, sometimes even hinting at justifying the massacre, as if the cartoonists had it coming.

Some of the anti-Charlie crowd, now clogging my feeds, seems jealous at the marches in France and the worldwide coverage, comparing it to the lack of coverage for Boko Haram attacks, for example. To them, I would say, get a plane ticket and march in Abuja, or go to northern Nigeria, and report yourself. I once reported about Boko Haram, and hated the way the editors handled my stories, but at least I tried. Even worse, in the discussion of Charlie Hebdo, some even feel the need to go on and on about how they are the victims for other issues when it's artists who were executed. They curse, the swear, they spew hate. They go off topic. Some of their ideas make sense, but still have nothing to do with Charlie Hebdo. I just don't get it.
